Grand Master MA Sirr

About The Author

M.A. Sirr at present holds the title of Grandmaster in the martial art of Cakra Alam. He has attained the level of 5th Dan which signifies his unswerving dedication to his art. He has trained with and stood his ground honourably against the best and is a unique all-round martial artist fighter with a world of experience.

One of five children brought up in a traditional family, his father had an inspirational hand in his upbringing, instilling in him a deep appreciation for not just an ethical worldly view of life but also a sound spiritual perspective.

There is a strong element of a holistic approach to martial arts outlined by M.A. Sirr. It’s not really just about becoming a great physical fighter but more about having a balanced approach to life in general. This means being in touch with yourself on all levels. In Chinese Kung Fu this is represented by the symbol of the Ying and Yang, a very important aspect of the martial arts many people tend to sometimes forget.

The most important thing according to M.A. Sirr is the ability to go through the process of development as a martial artist and to transmit this great knowledge to others. Everyone can benefit from it. M.A. Sirr has mused in the past, “what good will this skill do locked away in a dark closet?”.

Perhaps the most major turning point for M.A. Sirr in his perception of a wider appreciation of the martial arts was being witness to an attack on a disabled woman who was being mugged for her money outside a post office in broad day light. This incident made him want to do something for all communities especially the disabled, so he consciously developed a training method and style suited to both able bodied and disabled people.
